When you buy a Whale Tail® plate your dollar directly benefits the coast and our connection to it. The DMV distributes funds to support the California Coastal Commission, the State Coastal Conservancy, and the California State Environmental License Plate Fund. In turn, they support:

California Coastal Cleanup Day
On Coastal Cleanup Day 2015, more than 68,000 volunteers collected nearly 1,143,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from California beaches, lakes, and waterways. In 2016 the event is September 17th.

Coastal access trails and wheelchair accessible paths make it easier for all of us to enjoy the ocean.
Adopt A Beach Program
We've helped hundreds of groups (schools, businesses, scout troops, clubs) to adopt a beach and commit to clean it three times a year.
